This new generation of interior designers promises outstanding skills and innovative designs, breaking the rules, opting for boldness, and pushing the limits of beauty and interior design. Alex Holloway and Na Li are part of a new group of designers who are blurring the lines between historicism, decoration, and digital process to produce detailed interiors that are at ease in today’s design culture.
Alex Holloway and Na Li met while studying architecture at the Bartlett School of Architecture in London. They first collaborated on the Soho Farmhouse. Despite the fact that they each started their own practice in 2015, they frequently collaborated and created the Holloway Li practice in 2018. The tension between historicism and futurism is a formative influence for the duo, who identify London as their inspiration.
The Studio is a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and a chartered practice. The studio is situated in London, with projects now underway in London, Munich, and Beijing.
Holloway, who grew up in London, believes his painting “captures some of that animosity.” Furthermore, according to Li, who was born in Nanjing, China, their work frequently serves as “bridges between Far Eastern and Western thought.”
This way of thinking has helped them come up with ideas for the Hoxton brand. For the original Shoreditch field office, Holloway Li is developing a rooftop terrace expansion with a restaurant.
“Na and I are both designers at heart,so the goal is always to create settings that are exciting, intriguing, and challenging to customers’ expectations. Na’s strength is in technical insight and application, whereas my concentrate is on the design process’ conceptual side.” In that way, we’re a great match.

One of the studio’s most notable projects is Bermonds Locke. In Ermondsey, South London, there is a 143-room urban retreat focused on sustainability. It is the first of a series of projects with Holloway Li and Locke that explores the concept of “home meets hotel.” It is housed in the concrete shell of a former office building
“By reinventing material reuse, we seek to emphasize how a circular aterial economy can offer an extraordinarily unique aesthetic and a new kind of living experience — doing more with less,”
Alex Holloway and Na Li
Holloway Li desire to assist clients in comprehending the potential of design to interact with new market trends and to uncover social value, cultural impact, and economic profit through this method. They aim to delve inside the psyche of the consumer to better understand how to approach, attract, and engage them.
