His main influence in design is Anouska Hempel, whom he considers to be a legend. Her designs and philosophies are soul-stirring, according to him. He also refers to another English interior designer who advised him to “experience the fear and do it anyhow.”

Feel the fear and do it anyway.

Client satisfaction is another thing that motivates Lars Myren to do his job every day. He enjoys seeing a drawing come to life, from a mood board to a 3D visualization to the ultimately finished piece in real life.

When I get messages or see my clients walk around the house smiling, it is really rewarding.

LM Design Studio develops contemporary interiors with style and character that are both everlasting and opulent. Lars Myren enjoys experimenting with diverse styles since he values both heritage and innovation. He enjoys pushing himself so that he may learn from each endeavor. He also likes to challenge his customers, to push them out of their comfort zone a little bit, since he believes that is where beauty originates from.

I should challenge myself, I should learn something from my project, thinking about being an interior designer, you are never fully nerk.

Lars Myren doesn’t follow trends. He likes home decors to reflect each person’s individuality and preferences. But, he adds, there is still a long way to go. He would like to see more colors and vivid, enthusiastic home designs. He also wants to see greater sustainability in fabric, silk, needlework, and other similar products…

When it comes to his client’s desire for a unique interior design, Lars is not afraid to make concessions. He emphasizes the importance of listening to the customer and what they want once again. If they need anything special, it must be available. They offer you a list, which you must follow while working around the rest. It’s what they want, therefore that’s all that matters.

Myren says the pandemic had an impact on his job. According to him, the remote design has evolved over the last several years as a result of the epidemic, and it works really effectively. It necessitates a bit of extra organization and logistics, which is good. He now believes that because we are more acquainted with digital, clients can get a broader idea of how it will appear. He thinks it’s great.A challenge that Lars Myren’s is facing because of that and while operating on a global scale is shipping and delivery time.

Another challenge he also had to overcome is the language of each culture. He uses Asia as an example, where things are done differently than in Norway. He emphasizes the need of learning about the culture and psychology of the people with whom you are working. He expresses his belief that he has gone a long way simply by listening to the people.

Talking bout Home’Society products, Lars Myren is very much enchanted by RUG’SOCIETY and MAISON VALENTINA‘s products that he thinks would fit rather well in his design projects.

I love the rugs. That is art pieces. But a different needs a different style, so Maison Valentina would work probably very well. I find the best in each brand and inserted it into my designs.

One of Lars Myren’s next steps in his career is to design hotels and restaurants. He told us he hasn’t had the chance to work on this type of project and this is something that he hopes he can do in the future. He wants to experience designing commercial because he thinks he will be freer to design them than a residence. So this is one of his next steps in his career.
