“Art is linked to what hasn’t been done yet, to what has not been created yet. It is something outside of you, in the future, something to search for.” Eduardo Chillida
The artwork of Eduardo Chillida (1924-2002) represents one of the greatest artistic accomplishments of the late 20th century. To pay homage to the artist, the Chillida collection was created based on a chronological selection of his work. Chillida’s artistic nuances have been faithfully translated into rugs, all handmade using various techniques and fibers, such as wool, silk, and hand-spun mohair, to create different textures, showcasing the essence of his work.
Inspired by the landscapes and colors of Africa, and hand-knotted in certified Nepalese workshops, the collection “Legends of Carpets” translates abstract painting into timeless, woven works of art. Wool from the Tibetan highlands, fine Chinese silk and nettle yarn all possess exceptional qualities which consequently characterize every product. In Nepal, the firms certified partner workshops have often been in the hands of the same family for generations. There, carpets are hand-crafted using traditional Tibetan knotting methods under sustainable and socially responsible conditions.
The Rabari collection is created with 100% New Zealand wool, handmade in India with hand-knotted and hand-woven Sumak techniques. Comprised of four different rugs, the Rabari collection offers exceptional beauty through the outstanding design by Doshi Levien, a refined combination of patterns with a unique graphic sensuality.

Due to the heterogeneous nature of fibers and threads, to their diverse colors and hues, and to the personal interpretation of craftsmen, every rug ends up being a unique masterpiece.
The Eden Queen Rug is a masterpiece by designer Marcel Wanders. Part of Moooi Carpets Signature Collection, its photorealistic style and deep, contrasting hues are a deliberate homage to the Dutch Golden Age masters. Guaranteed to resist fading, the printed Eden Queen Rug is expertly tufted in either a synthetic polyamide or luxurious wool blend for increased versatility.
