The 2018 edition is the 57th edition of the iSaloni 2018. It is composed of different exhibitions spread over various pavilions in Rho Fiera Milano. Boasting more than 2,000 exhibitors, a display area of more than 200,000 square meters and thousands of new products premiered at the event, the Salone is the benchmark trade fair on an international level, attracting more than 343.602 visitors from as many as 165 countries.

This apartment stand showcases an Intense Rug Inspiration and reflects what a rug can do for your home design. The Nilotic pastoralist ethnic group Mursi lives in southwestern Ethiopia, they believe in a higher force coming from the sky, called Tumwi. The Mursi consider clay sacred and powerful, as they still paint their bodies for religious and medical purposes. This rug combines body painting motifs and animal footprints in an abstract pattern, the MURSI is a hand-tufted Tencel rug, an earth-to-earth acquisition for the home.

The Sami are indigenous people who inhabited the Arctic area of Sápmi. The traditional Sami livelihood included coastal fishing, fur trapping, sheep herding and, what they knew best, the semi-nomadic reindeer herding. This was the basis for the creation of the SAMI rug: the unique lifestyle of strength and resilience in the cold snow, brought by the clear spotted and textured patterns in hand-knotted thin wool. This rug also reflects an integration of movement, shapes, patterns.
